About DI

DI is a private organisation funded, owned and managed entirely by currently 12.000 companies within the manufacturing and service industries.

Mission

DI aims to provide the best possible working conditions for the Danish industry.

Organisation

DI currently comprises over 12.000 private enterprises within manufacturing and services covering virtually all sub-sectors.

A number of sector specific employers' associations and branch federations exist within DI's framework, being partly of fully integrated into DI.

Further, DI's members in each county constitute a regional federation, which deals with regional policy as well as educational issues.

Council

DI is financed, owned by its members, and governed by a council and executive committee elected by the annual general assembly.

Management

DI's management oversees the daily activities of the 400 employees.

Activities

DI's activities can be categorised as follows:

  • Policy advocacy - at local, national and international level
  • Membership services - information, counselling and consulting 
  • Network relations - between members and with soci-ety at large

Danish Energy Industries Federation


Danish Energy Industries Federation is a part of DI and consists of approximately 300 member companies that have energy as the primary area of activity. The Danish energy sector is one of the fastest growing export sectors of the Danish economy.

These companies are among others engaged in:

  • extracting energy resources
  • producing and distributing energy
  • offering energy services
  • manufacturing and developing technology and equip-ment for energy purposes
  • offering advisory services in the field of energy

Board and organisation

The member companies of Danish Energy Industries Federation have elected their own board, which has its own secretariat within DI.

Scope

The scope of the Federation of Danish Energy Industries is to obtain the best possible growth and development conditions for its members, both in respect to the national and international markets.


Challenges

The challenges of Federation of Danish Enegy Industries are to carry out initiatives and to propose framework conditions which can contribute to strengthening the Danish companies share of the international market for sustainable energy solutions.


Activities

The Federation of Danish Energy Industries is engaged in a number of activities on a national level as well on a European level. This encompass both network and advisory activities addressing the key issues of interest to the members within research, development and policy issues. Furthermore, The Federation of Danish Energy Industries is an active participant in and administrator of specific projects within the energy field. Moreover, The Federation of Danish Energy Industries takes an active part in the public-private partnerships, which among others is established in areas of hydrogen and fuel cells and second-generation bio fuels.

Danish Energy Industries Federation is an active part of "Bright Green"

In the preface to the Publication: Danish Technologies for Sustainable Growth (published by the Confederation of Danish Industries, Januar 2008) the Chairman of Danish Energy Industries, President and CEO of Danfoss A/S, Jørgen Mads Clausen states:

"Danish Energy Industries Federation believes that tackling climate change is a progrowth strategy, and we want to contribute to ensure that a new agreement can be signed at the 15th Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in
2009".
